You will have less drag improving your gas mileage and you won't have to reach up to the roof of your vehicle each time you load or unload. We currently have two class III trailer hitch options for a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox (Excluding Diesel), the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 76419 and the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13307. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the nearest part of the carrier is 9-1/2 inches when folded and 19-1/2 inches when in the down position. The 24x60 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches, part # C18152, and the 24x60 Reese Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches, part # 63153, are extremely similar. In fact, in terms of the specs that you mentioned, neither stands above the other.

First, the 2008 Honda Pilot with the factory 2 inch trailer hitch or even an aftermarket hitch has the face of the receiver pretty much flush with the rear bumper.
